I have had a similar incident and observed the same happening to a friend of mine. I won’t bore you with the details – they are inherently absurd. Women (and men too) are convinced that single men can only have one interest in children – are we dealing here with projection?

My approach to the problem is to assume that children do not exist. A year ago I was walking along the road, when a six or seven year old boy on the other side of a fence approached and began to talk to me. I overcame my natural reaction to respond to him and (with difficulty) studiously ignored him – his father was near-by. What can you say of a society which forces single-males to act this way for fear of false-allegations – in that case I feared that the father who was holding secateers in his hands might attack me – and we know which sex it is that has encouraged this nonsense, don’t we!

You may think that matters little,- the child will not even remember – however, a friend of mine tells the following story. He was on the side walk when a small child wandered into the middle of a usually busy road. He said that he had to think twice about whether to rush into the road to save the child. Happily his intervention proved unnecessary . I felt sure that if I had been in his position I would have overcome any humanity I might have and let the child be run over. Well done women!
